Mary Gallagher is a multi-talented American playwright, screenwriter, novelist, actress, director, and teacher. She served as the artistic director of Gypsy, a renowned theatre company in the Hudson Valley, New York, for six years. During her tenure, she collaborated with numerous artists to create awe-inspiring site-specific mask-and-puppet music-theatre productions like Premanjali and the 7 Geese Brothers, Ama, and The Scottish Play. Mary also directed the Playwrights Workshop at the University of Iowa in 1996-97 and taught playwriting and screenwriting at New York University/Tisch School of the Arts from 2001 to 2010. She is a respected member of Actors & Writers and the Ensemble Studio Theater. Mary Gallagher is widely recognized for her contributions to the theatrical arts.
