    Matt Allen Biography
    Matt Allen (born October 23, 1977) is a former American football punter in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Troy State and signed as an undrafted free agent with the Atlanta Falcons in 2002. Allen also played for the New York Giants during his NFL career. Prior to his professional career, he was a multi-sport athlete at Calvary Christian Academy, participating in football, basketball, and baseball. Allen's most notable moment came during the Giants-49ers NFC Wildcard game on January 5, 2003, when he attempted a pass after a botched snap, which ultimately ended the Giants' season. Throughout his lone NFL season, Allen had 63 punts for 2,326 yards with an average of 36.9 yards per punt.
