Matt Baker Biography
Matthew James Baker, born on December 23, 1977, is a British television presenter and actor. He is best known for his work as a co-presenter on the children's television show Blue Peter from 1999 to 2006, as well as his appearances on BBC One's Countryfile since 2009 and The One Show from 2011 to 2020, alongside Alex Jones. Baker was born in Easington, County Durham, where his parents owned a newsagent's shop and a smallholding. He attended Easington Village School before his family moved to a farm west of Durham. Baker developed a passion for dance and gymnastics, but had to give up gymnastics due to anemia. He studied Drama, Biology, and Sports Science at Durham Sixth Form Centre and later trained as an actor at Queen's University in Edinburgh.
