    Matt Bishop (born 25 December 1962) is an English journalist, author, novelist, and public relations executive. After leaving the Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School in 1981, Bishop worked in various jobs such as a bookmaker, betting-shop manager, and minicab driver. In the 1990s, he began his freelance writing career for Sporting Life while also pursuing psychology studies at university. Bishop's full-time writing career took off in 1993 when he joined Car magazine as a features editor. He later served as deputy editor and acting editor at Focus magazine before becoming the editor of F1 Racing (now GP Racing) magazine in December 1996. During his time as editor, F1 Racing reached a monthly circulation of 1.25 million copies worldwide. Bishop's expertise in Formula 1 led to his recruitment by McLaren following the 2007 Formula 1 espionage controversy.
