Matt Holland
Matthew Rhys Holland, born on 11 April 1974, is a retired professional footballer who played as a midfielder. He began his career at West Ham United and had loan spells at Farnborough Town and AFC Bournemouth before permanently joining Bournemouth in 1995. In 1997, he signed for Ipswich Town where he made over three hundred appearances and captained the club to promotion to the Premier League in 2000. Holland then joined Charlton Athletic in 2003, where he made over two hundred appearances and served as the club's captain. He retired from playing in 2009. Holland represented the Republic of Ireland from 1999 to 2005, earning one cap for the B team and making his senior debut in October 1999.
