Matt Young
Matthew John Young, born on August 9, 1958, is a former American professional baseball player. He played eleven seasons in Major League Baseball for various teams. In his rookie year, Young was selected as an MLB All-Star. He is best known for his unofficial no-hitter against the Cleveland Indians while playing for the Boston Red Sox. Young was born in Pasadena, California and attended the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He made his major league debut in 1983 with the Seattle Mariners and finished the season with an 11-15 record and a 3.27 earned run average in 33 games. Young represented the Mariners in the 1983 Major League Baseball All-Star Game.
