    Matthew Douglas Biography
    Matthew Douglas (born 26 November 1976) is a retired British track and field athlete who specialized in the 400 metres hurdles. Representing Great Britain, he participated in two consecutive Summer Olympics starting in 2000. Additionally, he competed for Northern Ireland and later for England in the Commonwealth Games. Douglas achieved a personal best of 48.54 seconds in the event, making him the fourth fastest Briton in history over this distance. Due to various injuries, Douglas retired from athletics and took over his family's solicitor practice. He holds a degree in Sports Sciences from Brunel University London.
