Matthew Malone

Matthew H. Malone is an American educator and former superintendent of Fall River Public Schools. He served as the superintendent from 2016 to 2021. Prior to that, Malone was the Massachusetts secretary of education. Growing up in Newton Upper Falls, Massachusetts, he overcame dyslexia and later enlisted in the United States Marine Corps at the age of 17. Malone served in the Marine Corps Reserve for eight years, including during the 1991 Persian Gulf War. He holds a bachelor's degree in history from Suffolk University and a master's degree in secondary education and a doctorate in educational administration from Boston College. Malone started his teaching career in 1993 and has since made significant contributions to the field of education.
