Matthew Moore

Matthew Moore is an American singer, songwriter, and musician. He gained commercial success with his song 'Space Captain', which was recorded by Joe Cocker and Barbra Streisand. Moore was a member of the group The Moon from 1967 to 1969 and recorded two albums with them. In 1970, he caught the attention of session musician Leon Russell, who invited Moore to join an upcoming US tour with Cocker. Moore provided backing vocals and the tour was recorded and released as the live album 'Mad Dogs and Englishmen'. Throughout the 1970s, Moore played in David Cassidy's band and collaborated with Russell. His song 'Space Captain' also inspired the name of the travel company Lonely Planet.
