Maurice Jones
Maurice Antonia Jones (born September 14, 1964) is an American executive and public servant. He is currently the CEO of OneTen, a coalition of companies aiming to create one million jobs for African Americans by the end of the 2020s. Prior to this, Jones served as the president and CEO of the Local Initiatives Support Corporation, a national community development financial institution. He has also held positions such as Deputy Secretary of Housing and Urban Development in the Obama administration and Virginia Secretary of Commerce under Governor Terry McAuliffe. Jones was born in Mecklenburg County, Virginia, and grew up on his grandparents' tobacco farm. He obtained a bachelor's degree in political science from Hampden-Sydney College, followed by studies at St. John's College, Oxford, and the University of Virginia School of Law. In November 2020, he was nominated as a candidate for United States Secretary of Housing and Urban Development in the Biden administration.
