Max Azria

Max Azria (January 1, 1949 – May 6, 2019) was a Tunisian-Jewish-born American fashion designer and entrepreneur. He is best known as the founder of the contemporary women's clothing brand BCBG MAX AZRIA and as the former designer, chairman, and CEO of the BCBG Max Azria Group. Azria left BCBG in 2016, and the company filed for bankruptcy in 2017, subsequently being sold to Marquee Brands and Global Brands Group. Later, Azria served as the CEO of ZappLight. Born in Sfax, Tunisia, Azria was raised in southeastern France and later moved to Paris. He eventually relocated to Los Angeles, California in 1981 and launched the successful Jess retail boutiques for women's apparel.
