Meg White, born Megan Martha White on December 10, 1974, is an American former musician and singer. She gained prominence as the drummer of the duo The White Stripes, contributing to the garage rock revival of the 2000s. Together with her bandmate Jack White, they formed The White Stripes in 1997. The duo quickly gained popularity in the Detroit underground scene before achieving international success with their breakthrough album 'White Blood Cells' in 2001. Meg White has been recognized for her talent, and in 2016, Rolling Stone named her one of the '100 Greatest Drummers of All Time.' After a successful career, she took a hiatus from recording following a bout of acute anxiety during a tour in 2007.
