Melanie Hill

Melanie Jane Hill (born January 11, 1962) is a British actress known for her roles in various television shows. She gained popularity for playing Hazel Redfern in 'Auf Wiedersehen, Pet' (1985-1986) and Aveline in 'Bread' (1986-1991). Hill's other notable roles include Rita Dolan in 'Playing the Field' (1998-2002), Maggie Budgen in 'Waterloo Road' (2012-2015), Julie Travers in 'The Syndicate' (2015), Cathy Matthews in 'Coronation Street' (2015-2022), and Siobhan MacKenzie in 'Casualty' (2024). Hill attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, where she won the Vanbrugh award. She has also appeared in 'The Bill,' 'Hot Money,' 'Juliet Bravo,' 'Emmerdale,' and 'Cape Wrath.'
