Melissa 'Missy' Hughes is an American executive who currently serves as the secretary and chief executive officer of the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC). She was appointed to the position in September 2019 by Governor Tony Evers, becoming the first woman to hold this post. Prior to her role at WEDC, Hughes worked as the general counsel and chief mission officer at Organic Valley, a prominent dairy cooperative in Wisconsin. Before that, she gained experience as an associate attorney at the law firm of Holland & Hart. Hughes earned her BA degree from Georgetown University and a law degree from the University of Wyoming.
