Melissa Phillips Biography
Melissa Frances Phillips is an American professional soccer coach and former player. She was born on September 4, 1987, in Santa Cruz, California. Phillips grew up in Roseville, California, where she attended Roseville High School. She captained the school's soccer team for two years and was named MVP as a junior and senior. Phillips played club soccer for Placer United SC from 1998 to 2005. She earned a soccer scholarship to study for a B.A. in health and wellness at CSU Stanislaus, where she played for the Stanislaus State Warriors. After graduating, Phillips pursued an M.A. at CSU Bakersfield. She is currently the head coach of Brighton & Hove Albion in the English Women's Super League.
