Michael Douglas Aron is a British diplomat who has served as Ambassador to Kuwait, Iraq, Libya, Sudan, and Yemen. Born on 22 March 1959, Aron attended Exeter School, Leeds University, and the Polytechnic of Central London. He joined the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) in 1984 and has held various positions in New York, Brasilia, and Brussels. Aron supervised the evacuation of British citizens from Tripoli during the Libyan Civil War in 2014. He closed the embassy and set up a temporary office in Tunis. In August 2015, Aron took up the appointment as Ambassador to the Republic of Sudan. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a strong commitment to diplomacy and international relations.
