Michael Dean Cohen is an American former lawyer who served as personal counsel and fixer to former United States president Donald Trump from 2006 to 2018. Born on August 25, 1966, Cohen also held positions as vice president of the Trump Organization, co-president of Trump Entertainment, and board member of the Eric Trump Foundation. He was deputy finance chairman of the Republican National Committee from 2017 to 2018. In August 2018, Cohen pleaded guilty to campaign-finance violations, tax fraud, and bank fraud. He admitted to violating campaign-finance laws at Trump's direction to influence the 2016 presidential election. Cohen also pleaded guilty to lying to U.S. congressional committees in November 2018.
