Michael Dowd

Michael Dowd (1958 - 2023) was an American author, lecturer, and advocate of ecotheology and post-doom. He gained prominence through his books, including EarthSpirit in 1991 and Thank God for Evolution in 2007. Dowd's speaking career focused on topics such as the epic of evolution, religious naturalism, and progressive Christianity. His speaking engagements extended beyond religious institutions, including appearances at the United Nations' Values Caucus, The Skeptics Society, and TEDx in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In 2014, Dowd became involved in climate change activism, aligning his speaking efforts with the Great March for Climate Action. Later, he shifted his focus to providing pastoral support for those affected by climate change and environmental issues.
