Michael Hanson
Michael "Mike" Hanson, born in the 1930s or 1940s, is a Hong Kong press secretary and former head of Governor Chris Patten's war room from 1992 to 1994. He is known for his role in promoting Patten's controversial 1994 Hong Kong electoral reform, which caused political turmoil during the handover of Hong Kong to China. Hanson was also the first official to introduce political PR into the government and served as the government's refugee coordinator for Vietnamese asylum seekers in Hong Kong. He served as the head of political public relations for the British Hong Kong government from 1991 to October 1994 and as the personal press secretary of Chris Patten during the same period.
