Michael Harding Biography
Michael Harding (born 1953) is an Irish writer known for his novels, poetry, and columns. He was born and raised in Cavan, Ireland, and attended St. Patrick's College, Maynooth. Harding taught at St. Patrick's College in Cavan Town and worked as a social worker in a prison before becoming a seminarian and being ordained in 1980. After leaving the priesthood in 1985, he practiced Buddhism for seventeen years. Harding is married to sculptor Cathy Carman, and they have two children. He currently resides in Tarmon, County Leitrim. Harding has written several books, including 'Priest' (1986), 'The Trouble With Sarah Gullion' (1988), and 'Bird in the Snow' (2008). He has also worked with The Abbey Theatre and Trinity College Dublin.
