Michael Lawrence Hendricks is an American psychologist, suicidologist, and advocate for the LGBT community. He has been working as a partner at the Washington Psychological Center, P.C. in northwest Washington, D.C., since 1999. Hendricks has taught clinical psychopharmacology at Argosy University, Howard University, and Catholic University of America as an adjunct professor. He is also a Fellow of the American Psychological Association (APA). Raised in a conservative town in Western Michigan, Hendricks experienced challenges due to his sexual orientation. He pursued a degree in social psychology at Michigan State University and later completed a doctorate, focusing on HIV, as he preferred clinical work over academia.
