Michael M. Kaiser (born October 27, 1953) is an American arts administrator. He served as president of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts from 2001 to 2014. Known as 'the turnaround king', Kaiser has gained international recognition for his expertise in arts management. He has worked with various arts institutions including the Kansas City Ballet, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, American Ballet Theatre, and the Royal Opera House. Kaiser was born in New York City and grew up in New Rochelle, New York. He holds an undergraduate degree in economics and minor in music from Brandeis University and a master's degree in management from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
