Michael Lewis
Michael Monroe Lewis (born October 15, 1960) is an American author and financial journalist. He is a contributing editor to Vanity Fair since 2009, focusing on business, finance, and economics. Lewis gained recognition for his nonfiction work, especially his coverage of financial crises and behavioral finance. Born in New Orleans, he graduated from Princeton University with a degree in art history and later attended the London School of Economics. Lewis started his career on Wall Street during the 1980s as a bond salesman at Salomon Brothers, which inspired his first book, Liar's Poker (1989). His notable books include Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game (2003) and The Big Short: Inside the Doomsday Machine (2010). The Blind Side, based on his book The Blind Side: Evolution of a Game (2006), was adapted into a film in 2009.
