Michael Lewis is an American author and financial journalist. Born on October 15, 1960, in New Orleans, Lewis graduated from Princeton University with a degree in art history. After attending the London School of Economics, he started his career on Wall Street as a bond salesman at Salomon Brothers in the 1980s. Inspired by his experiences, Lewis wrote his first book, 'Liar's Poker,' in 1989. He is best known for his nonfiction works on financial crises and behavioral finance, including 'Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game' (2003) and 'The Big Short: Inside the Doomsday Machine' (2010). Lewis has also been a contributing editor to Vanity Fair since 2009.
