Michael McCafferty
Michael McCafferty (born September 7, 1942) is an American serial entrepreneur, inventor, and programmer. He is known as the 'Father of CRM' for inventing and coding TeleMagic, the first CRM software product for PCs. McCafferty started his career as a new account territory sales rep for IBM after graduating from college in 1964. He later founded and served as CEO of Technitrol, Inc.'s subsidiary, Eastern Data Processing, until 1974. McCafferty also developed PAL, the first computerized Yellow Pages, but it failed, leading him to file for bankruptcy in 1983. He then created TeleMagic as the founder and CEO of Remote Control International, which was later acquired by The Sage Group in 1992.
