Michael McGarry
Michael McGarry (born 17 May 1965) is a former association footballer from New Zealand. He represented New Zealand in the 1980s and 1990s, earning a total of 87 caps for the national team. McGarry began his senior career with Dunedin City and later played for Mosgiel before moving to Australia to join Sydney Olympic in the National Soccer League. After a season, he returned to New Zealand to play for Christchurch United, where he won the Jack Batty Memorial Trophy and reached the Chatham Cup final twice. McGarry scored 12 goals in his international career and played his final match against Indonesia in 1997. He is also the father of New Zealand international James McGarry and currently teaches at Otago Boys' High School.
