Michael P. Sullivan

Michael P. Sullivan is an American attorney and former President of Dairy Queen. He was born in 1934 and is a graduate of Marquette University and University of Minnesota Law School. Before his role at Dairy Queen, Sullivan served as a Naval officer and practiced business and franchise law at Gray Plant Mooty for 25 years. As the CEO of Dairy Queen from 1987 to 2001, he successfully competed with fast food giants McDonald's, Wendy's, and Burger King. Sullivan resolved internal issues with Dairy Queen distributors and sold the company to Warren Buffett and Berkshire Hathaway in 1998. He has also served as a Director of The Valspar Corporation and currently holds positions at the University of St. Thomas College of Business, Allianz Life Insurance Co. of North America, and Adler Trust Company.
