Michael Traynor
Michael Traynor (1917 – fl. 1970) was an Irish politician and member of Sinn Féin in the 1950s and 1960s. Born in Belfast, Traynor witnessed the bodies of three Irish Republican Army (IRA) members at a young age, which led him to join the IRA in the 1930s. He served multiple times in the Crumlin Road Prison and participated in hunger strikes. Traynor played a significant role in the S-Plan and served as Adjutant-General. Known for his expertise in bomb making, he advocated for guerilla raids in the south to combat the north. Traynor was arrested in Dublin while meeting with other leading IRA figures at the Meath Hotel.
