Mike Finneran

Mike Finneran, born on September 21, 1948, is an American former diver. In 1971, he achieved notable success by winning the NCAA outdoor and AAU indoor titles, as well as a gold medal at the Pan American Games, all in the 3 m springboard category. The following year, Finneran secured the AAU outdoor springboard title. He represented the United States at the 1972 Summer Olympics, finishing 5th in the springboard event and 9th in the 10 m platform. Finneran graduated with a degree in business administration from the Ohio State University in 1971. He later went on to coach diving teams at the University of South Carolina and the University of Alabama. Finneran also coached the national diving team for the 1986 Goodwill Games and served as a coach at Enloe High School and North Carolina State University. He comes from a family of Olympic athletes, with his sister Sharon Finneran being an Olympic swimmer and her daughter Ariel Rittenhouse an Olympic diver.
