Mike Paterson
Mike Paterson is a British computer scientist and professor emeritus at the University of Warwick. He was the director of the Centre for Discrete Mathematics and its Applications (DIMAP) and chair of the department of computer science. Paterson received his Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge in 1967 and spent three years at MIT before joining the University of Warwick in 1971. He is known for his expertise in theoretical computer science, with a focus on algorithm design and analysis and computational complexity. Paterson's contributions to the field have earned him numerous accolades, including the EATCS Award in 2006. Workshops have been held in his honor, bringing together esteemed laureates in the field.
