Molly Morgan
Molly Morgan (baptised 31 January 1762 – 27 June 1835) was an English landowner, farmer, and convict. Born as Mary Jones in Ludlow, Shropshire, England, she married William Morgan in 1785 and had two children. In 1789, the couple was convicted of stealing hempen yarn from a factory, leading to their transportation to New South Wales as convicts. While in Australia, William left Molly due to her flirtatious behavior. Molly managed to escape back to England in 1794 by becoming Captain John Locke's mistress. After recovering her children, she became a dressmaker in Plymouth and married Thomas Mears in 1797. Molly Morgan's life was marked by her involvement in criminal activities and subsequent transportation to Australia as a convict.
