Mona Charen Parker (born February 25, 1957) is an American columnist, journalist, and political commentator. She is known for her conservative views and has written several bestselling books including 'Useful Idiots: How Liberals Got it Wrong in the Cold War and Still Blame America First' (2003) and 'Do-Gooders: How Liberals Hurt Those They Claim to Help (and the Rest of Us)' (2005). Charen was a weekly panelist on CNN's Capital Gang before its cancellation. She often writes about foreign policy, terrorism, politics, poverty, family structure, public morality, and culture. Charen was born in New York City, raised in Livingston, New Jersey, and is Jewish. She holds a B.A. degree with honors from Barnard College.
