Ned Brooks
Ned Brooks (August 13, 1901 – April 13, 1969) was an American television and radio journalist. He served as the moderator of NBC's Meet the Press from 1953 to 1965, making him the second-longest tenured moderator in the program's history. Brooks was born in Kansas City, Missouri, and raised in Warren, Ohio. He attended Ohio State University, graduating in 1924. After working as a newspaper reporter for the Ohio State Journal and Scripps-Howard newspapers, he covered Congress from 1932 to 1947. Brooks also served as the managing editor of the Youngstown Telegram for five years. He later worked as a broadcaster for Three-Star Extra on NBC radio.
