Nick Mangold Biography
Nicholas Allan Mangold, born January 13, 1984, is an American former professional football player who played as a center for the New York Jets in the NFL. He attended Archbishop Alter High School in Kettering, Ohio, where he excelled in football, wrestling, and track & field. Nick garnered All-Ohio honors in football and competed in the shot put in track and field. Despite being overlooked by recruiting services, he played in the 2002 U.S. Army All-American Bowl. Mangold then attended Ohio State University, where he became a three-year starter at center and played a key role in the team's success. He was selected by the New York Jets in the first round of the 2006 NFL Draft and went on to become a seven-time Pro Bowl selection, establishing himself as one of the best centers in the league.
