    Nicolas Abraham (Ábrahám Miklós; 23 May 1919 – 18 December 1975) was a Hungarian-born French psychoanalyst known for his work with Mária Török. He studied philosophy and was influenced by Husserl before moving to Paris in 1938. Abraham and Török worked within the Freudian paradigm, but also incorporated the findings of Sándor Ferenczi. They introduced key concepts in contemporary psychoanalysis, such as the family secret and the theory of the phantom. Abraham's distinctive approach emphasized the role of personal experiences in an individual's motives, challenging preset notions within psychoanalytic theory. His work continues to influence the field of psychoanalysis today.
