Nigel Spivey

Nigel Jonathan Spivey (born 18 October 1958) is a British classicist and academic, known for his specialization in classical art and archaeology. He currently holds the position of senior lecturer in classics at the University of Cambridge and is a fellow of Emmanuel College. Spivey completed his studies at Cambridge, the British School at Rome, and the University of Pisa. Apart from his academic pursuits, Spivey has also made appearances on television, presenting various series including 'How Art Made the World' (BBC, 2005), 'Digging for Jesus' (ITV, 2005), 'Kings and Queens' and 'Heroes of World War II' (Channel 5). He has also appeared in an episode of the BBC series 'Cunk on Earth' in 2022.
