Ning Lu

Ning Lu is an electrical engineer and professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at North Carolina State University. With a background in electric power systems, she specializes in modeling, scheduling, and controlling the load profile in smart grids. Her research focuses on the demand response of grid-friendly household appliances, energy storage, and the integration of renewable energy sources into the grid. Lu completed her graduate studies at the Harbin Institute of Technology and the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, earning a master's degree in electric power engineering in 1999 and a Ph.D. in 2002. Prior to her academic career, she worked as a substation design engineer in Shenyang and later as a research engineer at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory.
