Nobuo Tanaka
Nobuo Tanaka is a Japanese official and former Executive Director of the International Energy Agency. Born on March 3, 1950, in Japan, he graduated from the University of Tokyo with a degree in economics in 1972 and obtained an MBA from Case Western Reserve University in 1979. Tanaka began his career with the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan in 1973. He later joined the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in 1989 as the Deputy-Director for Science, Technology, and Industry. Tanaka also served as the Director for Science, Technology, and Industry at OECD from 1991 to 1995. In addition, he held various positions at METI, including Director for Industrial Finance Division and Director for Policy Planning and Coordination Division. Tanaka's expertise and experience have contributed significantly to the field of energy and international cooperation.
