Norman Rose Biography
Norman Rose (June 23, 1917 – November 12, 2004) was an American actor, film narrator, and radio announcer. Known for his velvety baritone, he was often referred to as 'the Voice of God' by colleagues. Rose gained recognition as the narrator's voice in the Juan Valdez Colombian coffee television commercials and as the announcer-narrator of NBC's Dimension X. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Rose began his acting career while studying at George Washington University. He further honed his craft at the Actors Studio Drama School in New York and performed in both on and off-Broadway plays. Rose also contributed his talents as the narrator of the satirical hit song 'Deteriorata' and as a drama instructor at the Juilliard School. He was a valuable asset to the United States Office of War Information during World War II.
