Olivia Parker

Olivia Parker (born 1941) is an American still-life photographer based in Manchester-by-the-Sea. Born in Boston in 1941, Parker graduated from Wellesley College with a bachelor's degree in art history in 1963. With a background in both art history and painting, Parker explores the intersections between art and science in her work. Her photographs of found objects are often described as poetic and dreamy. In 2019, the Peabody Essex Museum held a retrospective exhibition of Parker's work titled Order of Imagination: The Photographs of Olivia Parker, accompanied by an exhibition catalog. Parker was also inducted into the International Photography Hall of Fame in 2019, alongside other notable photographers. Her work can be found in collections such as The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
