Ons Jabeur is a Tunisian professional tennis player born on August 28, 1994. As of June 27, 2022, she holds a career-high ranking of world No. 2 by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA). Jabeur is not only the current Tunisian number one player but also the highest-ranked African and Arab tennis player in the history of WTA and ATP rankings. She has achieved remarkable success, winning five singles titles on the WTA Tour and eleven singles titles and one doubles title on the ITF Circuit. Jabeur made history by reaching the finals of Wimbledon in 2022 and 2023, as well as the finals of the US Open in 2022, becoming the first African and Arab woman to compete in a major singles final. With a passion for tennis since a young age, Jabeur began playing at three years old under the guidance of her mother. She showcased her talent early on, winning the junior girls' singles title at the French Open in 2011, making her the first African or Arab player to achieve this feat since 1964. Since 2017, Jabeur has transitioned to competing more regularly on the WTA Tour after spending nearly a decade primarily at the ITF level. Her outstanding achievements have earned her recognition, including the Arab Woman of the Year award.
