Paddy Rowan

Percy Edward Rowe, known as 'Paddy Rowan', was an Australian rules footballer who played for Collingwood in the Victorian Football League. Born on 28 May 1889, Rowan was not only a talented footballer but also a successful boxer. He was the Victorian amateur champion lightweight boxer and turned professional in 1910. Interestingly, Rowan's alias, 'Paddy Rowan', originated from his boxing career and he was registered under this name to play for Collingwood in 1911. Rowan married Louisa Marion Newby in 1915 and they had a son named Percy in 1916. Sadly, Percy Edward Rowe passed away on 5 December 1916.
