Park Jin-young, also known as J. Y. Park and The Asiansoul, is a South Korean singer-songwriter, record producer, record executive, and reality television show judge. Born on December 13, 1971, in Seoul, Park rose to fame as a singer with the release of his debut album, Blue City, in 1994. In 1997, he founded JYP Entertainment, which has become one of the most profitable entertainment agencies in South Korea. As the former head of JYP Entertainment, Park has been instrumental in the success of numerous K-pop artists, including Rain, Wonder Girls, 2PM, Miss A, Got7, Day6, Twice, Stray Kids, Itzy, Xdinary Heroes, Nmixx, Boy Story, and NiziU.
