Patricia Scanlon (born 1974 or 1975) is an Irish technologist and businesswoman. She is the founder of SoapBox Labs, a company that specializes in applying artificial intelligence to develop speech recognition applications for children's voices. Scanlon served as the CEO of SoapBox Labs from its inception until May 2021, when she transitioned to the role of executive chair. In 2022, Scanlon was appointed as Ireland's first Artificial Intelligence Ambassador by the Irish Government. Her responsibilities include leading a national conversation on the role and impact of AI in people's lives. Scanlon grew up in Naas, County Kildare, and holds a bachelor's degree in electronic engineering from the Dublin Institute of Technology and a PhD in digital signal processing for speech recognition from University College Dublin.
