Patrick Cox (born March 19, 1963) is a Canadian-British fashion designer known for his eponymous fashion label specializing in shoes, leather goods, and accessories. Cox is recognized for his innovative use of materials and his blend of avant-garde and traditional styles. Born in Edmonton, Alberta, to a Canadian ballerina mother and an English linguist father, Cox grew up locally but also spent time in Nigeria, Chad, and Cameroon due to his father's work. He completed his education in Edmonton before moving to Toronto at the age of 17. At 19, Cox designed his first pair of shoes for designer Loucas Kleanthous, who encouraged him to pursue a design career. Cox then studied at Cordwainer's Technical College in London from 1983 to 1985.
