Paul Bahn
Paul Gerald Bahn (born 29 July 1953) is a British archaeologist, translator, writer, and broadcaster. He is known for his extensive publications on various archaeological topics, with a particular focus on prehistoric art. Bahn is a contributing editor to Archaeology magazine and co-authored the widely-used textbook Archaeology: Theories, Methods and Practice with Colin Renfrew. Born and raised in Kingston-upon-Hull, Bahn studied archaeology at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge, where he earned his BA in 1974. He later completed his Ph.D. thesis on the prehistory of the French Pyrenees at Cambridge in 1979. After receiving his doctorate, Bahn held several post-doctoral fellowships, including a Getty Foundation postdoctoral fellowship in the History of Art and the Humanities. He has since focused on writing, editing, and translating books on archaeology.
