Paul Bartholomew
Paul Bartholomew (1883–1973) was an architect based in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. Known for his high-profile commissions, he designed a variety of residential and non-residential structures in Westmoreland County. His buildings featured historicist facades with neoclassical or Italianate ornamentation, blending with modern frameworks. Towards the end of his career in the 1950s, he embraced modern design. Notably, Bartholomew was tasked with designing Norvelt, a new town created under President Roosevelt's New Deal policies during the Great Depression. One of his notable works, the Citizens National Bank of Latrobe in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, designed in partnership with Brandon Smith, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Many of his works contribute to the Greensburg Downtown Historic District and the Academy.
