Paul Duke Biography
Paul Duke (October 16, 1926 — July 18, 2005) was an American newspaper, radio, and television journalist. He is best known for his 20-year tenure as the moderator of Washington Week in Review on PBS. Born in Pennsylvania, Duke grew up in Richmond, Virginia, where he worked at radio station WMBG during high school. He graduated from the University of Richmond with a major in English and started his career as a sportswriter for Associated Press (AP) in Richmond. Duke quickly gained recognition for his coverage of major national stories, particularly the struggle for Civil Rights. He eventually received a permanent assignment to AP's Washington bureau.
