Paul Haber
Paul Haber (1937–2003) was an American handball champion known for his innovative use of the ceiling in the game. He was the first player to use the ceiling offensively and achieved great success with this technique. Haber won numerous American and Canadian handball titles and was inducted into the United States Handball Association Hall of Fame in 1983. Born in the Bronx in 1937 to Polish Jewish parents, Haber gained media attention not only for his skills on the court but also for his off-court antics. He was featured in publications such as the Wall Street Journal, Sports Illustrated, Ace, and Argosy. In addition to his handball career, Haber supported himself through teaching lessons, playing cards, pool, and betting on his matches.
