Paul Longley

Paul A. Longley is a British geographer and Professor of Geographic Information Science (GISci) at University College London (UCL), UK. He also serves as the director of the ESRC Consumer Data Research Centre. Previously, he held the position of Professor of Geography at the University of Bristol. Longley's research focuses on the socioeconomic applications of GIScience, including projects on topics such as geo-temporal demographics, social media usage, retail geography analytics, and the effectiveness of public service delivery. He has authored 18 books and over 150 contributions to refereed journal articles, edited collections, and book chapters. Longley has also served as Editor-in-Chief of the academic journal Computers, Environment and Urban Systems and co-editor of Environment and Planning B. He teaches Geographic Information Science and Systems.
